Unique

I’d like to point out a few things that make Cambodian food unique.  While it is somewhat similar to it’s neighboring cuisine of Thailand, there is much different as well.  Cambodian or Khmer as it is often called uses  an ingredient known as Prahok, which is not used in many other cultural foods.  Prahok is a fermented fish paste, which may sound off putting to some, until you’ve tried it you should really remain open minded.
